Variable Gauge Rolling Road (32/45/63.5mm)
The Rolling Road provides a convenient means of running-in fault finding or dynamic testing of locomotives, both steam and electric. The unit consists of a number of modular components, which are placed in a length of straight track and positioned beneath the locomotive axles. The modules are split centrally, using poly carbonate spacers, each half being isolated from the other to enable electric locomotives to be powered from the track. The modules are adjustable for 32mm, 45mm or 63.5mm gauges. When used for 32mm gauge Type D is only suitable for locos with driving axles set at centres greater than 45mm.
