K1 Class Tasmanian Beyer-Garratt 0-4-0+0-4-0 Locomotive

These K1 class Beyer-Garratts were the first to be built and supplied in 1909 to the N.E. Dundas Tramway, 17mile 2ft gauge line in Tasmania.  One of them was repatriated in 1947 by Beyer Peacock and eventually purchased by the Festiniog Railway in 1965.  After a long overhaul the loco was first steamed in 2004, and will eventually be used on the Welsh Highland Railway. This new GRS kit is designed for ease of build, consisting of cast resin boiler unit, cab, tanks and cylinders, with brass etch for the remainder of the bodywork. Both chassis are power driven and screw together using brass and steel. The valve gear is steel and nickel silver with nut and bolt assembly. Full instructions included.

CMD260Lynton & Barnstable 2-6-2 Tank Loco Kit

These L&B locos were built by Manning Wardle for the line opening in 1898. They were named after West Country rivers Yeo, Exe and Taw.  Over the years they were modified (particularly the cabs), and our model depicts the loco in its final form. The loco has a steel and brass chassis, which bolts together for ease of assembly. Slaters wheels with stainless steel tyres are employed with an extended shouldered steel axle and pre-fitted motor gearbox. Cylinders are resin with cast brass inserts, slide bars and crossheads. Valve gear is laser cut steel. The body is cast in resin with whitemetal detailing, and includes full cab detail. Complete with instructions.
